Hate Condoms? Try This Dick Sticker Or Not!
No glove, no love?? The jury is still out!
For those who hate condoms, company Jiftip has developed an alternative: a polyurethane adhesive device — basically a sticker — that you put on the penis’ urethra which supposedly prevents precum from leaking out.
As seen on the company’s website:
Right before you ejaculate, you must pull out and peel off the adhesive. Sadly, the company cannot guarantee that the product will 100% prevent pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases.
“This product is for pleasure, convenience, novelty, or entertainment purposes only. THOU SHALT NOT USE FOR PREGNANCY OR STI PREVENTION PURPOSES.”
When the product went viral, people were skeptical about its effectiveness. As seen Twitter:
So @jiftip wants you to wear a sticker on the tip of your dick and rip it off right before you cum which they explain will make you cry pic.twitter.com/GuoLfkfUng

Re jiftip. I had this idea 12 years ago, but it was just duct tape

The JifTip is such a bad idea i don’t even know where to start. Might as well just use the Chiquita sticker off a banana.

Recently, BuzzFeed spoke to urologist Dr. Paul Gittens of the Center for Sexual Medicine who did not give the “diktip” a good review! In regards to preventing STIs:
“The Jiftip probably doesn’t have a good enough seal viruses and bacteria like HIV, HPV, chlamydia, and gonorrhea are small enough to be able to get inside of the urethra and cause these problems.”
Gittens is also concerned with how well the sticker sticks on, especially if you’re using the product to prevent pregnancy.
“What happens if you’re having sex and the tip falls off you probably won’t even know until it’s too late.”
Ultimately, the doctor gives the “feel shield” a big thumbs DOWN!
“If it doesn’t accomplish that [prevention] goal, then it doesn’t make much sense to use it. Sure, there’s a decrease in sensation when you have sex with a condom, but the benefits are that you’re going to protect yourself from STIs and it’s highly effective in preventing pregnancies. I just don’t think it’s a good idea to use the Jiftip.”
Either way, practice safe sex, y’all![Image via Jiftip.]
